Update & delete location drawings (Premium & Enterprise plans only)

Description:

This article covers removing and updating the drawings/schematics on your project locations. For information on adding drawings/schematics, see Add & manage location drawings (Premium & Enterprise plans only).

If you need to update the drawing because a new revision is available, for example, you should update the file on the location rather than deleting the file and adding a new one. This way, all existing item location pins associated with the current drawing can be migrated over to the new revision.

Notes:

• The term Drawing may have been customised to something more relevant to your workflow under the project settings.
• Only Project Admins and Internal users are able to add and manage locations and location drawings. Other users can only view the location drawings.
• Location drawings are not available on Starter and Personal plans.

Guide:

1. Updating a location drawing with a new revision or updated file

1.1. From the home screen go to Your project.

1.2. You will now be presented with the project overview screen.

1.3. Scroll down to the Locations header.

1.4. Tap on the location associated with the drawing that you would like to update.

1.5. Tap on the ☰ icon to reveal the actions available on the drawing. Tap on Update drawing under the Drawing information section of the pop-up to open your image library (or file explorer if you are on desktop).

 

1.6. Tap on Update drawing under the Information heading to open your file explorer and choose either a PDF, JPEG or PNG file.

Note: PDFs must only contain one page.

1.7 If required, you can update the drawing details, see Add location drawings & manage their details.

1.8. To save your changes make sure to tap the ✓ in the top right of the Manage location page. The location will now be updated and the new drawing will be available when you associate this location with an item.

 

1.9. To utilise the updated file on any existing items that are associated with previous versions of the drawing, go to each item and tap on the relevant location pin to open up the Manage pin page. You will be presented with an alert asking whether you would like to update the drawing to the latest version or continue using the old version for that location pin. Tap Yes, update to migrate the pin to the new version of the drawing.

2. Removing a location drawing

2.1. Go to the location associated with the drawing that you would like to amend the details for.

2.2. Tap on the ☰ icon to reveal the actions available on the drawing. Tap on Delete drawing under the Drawing information section of the pop-up.

 

2.3. You will be presented with an Are you sure alert. Tap, Yes, delete to confirm that you would like to delete the drawing.
